Shoulder Electrode Placement

Shoulder AC placement

AC Sprain or Pain through the Tip of the Shoulder

Use E-Set Electrodes

The small round electrode is placed directly over the primary point of pain over the acromioclavicular (AC) joint as shown above.

If there is no secondary pain, the larger rectangular electrode is placed across the spine of the scapula as shown. This is the most comfortable location to receive stimulation in the shoulder allowing the patient to achieve a higher intensity level. As a result, a higher level of therapeutic signal will be delivered to the small round electrode which is directly over where the pain is presenting itself.

Shoulder Rotator Cuff placement

Rotator Cuff Pain or Pain on the Front of the Shoulder

Use E-Set Electrodes

The small round electrode is placed directly over the primary point of pain over the rotator cuff on the front of the shoulder. If the pain presents on the back of the shoulder then the small electrode should be placed over the the primary point of pain there.

If there is no secondary pain, the larger rectangular electrode is placed across the spine of the scapula. This is the most comfortable location to receive stimulation in the shoulder allowing the patient to achieve a higher intensity level. As a result, a higher level of therapeutic signals will be delivered to the small round electrode.

Shoulder Bilateral Placement

Bilateral Shoulder Pain (Pain of Similar Magnitude in Two Locations

Use B-Set Electrodes

Two round electrodes are placed over equal points of pain on each shoulder, for example on each trapezius muscle as shown above.
