Percutaneous Electrodes

Biowave Percutaneous Electrodes utilize a patented needle technology to bypass the impedance of skin and provide a direct conductive pathway for the BiowavePRO therapeutic signals to travel into deep tissue to the surface of nerves. Biowave Percutaneous Electrodes are sterile, single-use and comprised of an array of over 1000 needles within a 2.5 inch diameter patch. The needles are 0.74 mm in length, are implanted through the skin and feel like Velcro to the touch. Biowave Percutaneous Electrodes are placed in Sharps Disposal following the treatment.


There are two different sets of BioWave Percutaneous Electrodes sized to focus the therapeutic signals to different locations in the body:

B – Set

  • For Two Locations of Pain
  • Radiculopathies
  • Large Areas of Pain

Two round equal area percutaneous electrodes (2.5-inch diameter) for treating two locations of pain of equal magnitude. Used for bilateral pain in the lumbar or thoracic back, buttocks, cervical spine, and shoulders, for radiculopathies, for pain centered directly over the spine, for pain throughout the knee, and for pain over large areas.

E – Set

  • For Single Locations of Pain and Extremity Pain

One round percutaneous electrode (2.5-inch diameter) for a primary pain location, and one rectangular noninvasive electrode (2 inches x 4 inches) to be placed over a comfortable location to receive stimulation (typically a bony prominence) near the region being treated. Used for single locations of pain on the back like trigger points or for single locations of pain in the extremities.
