BioWave’s Smarter Pain Blocking Technology Now Available at 40 VA Medical Centers Nationwide

Proprietary, Non-Opioid Treatment for Pain Captures Over 25% of the VA Hospital Market in One Year

NORWALK, Conn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–BioWave Corp., a Health Technology company that delivers Smarter Pain Blocking Technology™ today announced that its patented technology is now in use at 40 U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Centers nationwide. This includes five of the 19 VA Centers of Innovation (COINs), which lead the charge in specific areas of patient care.

“The opioid epidemic continues to shatter lives across the country, particularly among veterans, but more and more physicians and patients are discovering BioWave’s non-opioid, non-addictive, effective Smarter Pain Blocking Technology,” commented Rob Wolter, CEO. “Because they are more likely to suffer from chronic pain, veterans are, in turn, twice as likely to die from accidental overdoses of addictive painkillers than non-veterans, according to the federal government. We are very gratified to offer a solution to this problem to VA health professionals and patients.”

BioWave’s FDA-cleared, high frequency neurostimulation technology, described in more detail on its redesigned website, delivers soothing therapeutic signals through the skin into deep tissue, blocking pain signals at the source.

“I was bedridden from cervical pain, but thanks to the BioWave, I was up and walking and back to normal in one week flat,” commented Greg Gaston, a Navy Vietnam veteran in Corpus Christi, Texas. “My injuries had me down and out for weeks, and I was at a pretty low point. Then I found BioWave, and things have been looking up since. It really is amazing.”

“We appreciate Mr. Gaston sharing his experience with our pain-blocking technology, just one example as we pursue our mission to improve people’s daily lives,” commented Brad Siff, Founder and President. “Feeling is believing, whether for veterans like Mr. Gaston, active military, professional athletes or people from all walks of life. In under a year we have successfully secured contracts for BioWave to be offered in approximately 25% of VA Medical Centers from coast to coast, and we look forward to expanding to dozens more VA healthcare facilities in the coming months.”

BioWave is available under Federal Supply Schedule contract number V797D-70205.
